Terms of Service

Dabke is a learning app that teaches dabke through bite-sized lessons, AI-scored recording attempts, and a progression-based skill path. Some features (combos, the Wedding Ready test, AI scoring on every attempt) require a Pro subscription.

You need an account to use most features. You can create one with an email and password or by signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for any activity on your account. Notify us immediately at learndabkeapp@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the equivalent minimum age where you live) to create an account.

Pro subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly, annual, or one-time-lifetime basis depending on the plan you select. Pricing is shown in your local currency by the App Store / Google Play before purchase.

• Auto-renewal. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Renewal charges are processed by your platform store (Apple App Store or Google Play).
• Cancellation. You can cancel any time from your platform store's subscription settings:
  · iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Dabke → Cancel.
  · Android: Play Store → menu → Subscriptions → Dabke → Cancel.
  Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep access until then.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the platform store under their respective refund policies. We do not directly process refunds. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law.
• Lifetime purchase. A one-time lifetime purchase grants you Pro access for the lifetime of the Service, tied to the platform account that made the purchase.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to harass or harm others.
• Upload videos that contain explicit, hateful, infringing, or otherwise objectionable content. We may remove such content and suspend the account responsible without notice.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App, except where the law expressly allows this.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
• Interfere with the Service or attempt to bypass technical limitations (rate limits, entitlement checks, etc.).

You retain ownership of the videos and other content you upload. By uploading, you grant Dabke a worldwide, royalty- free, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display your content solely as necessary to provide the Service to you (e.g. running the AI scoring pipeline, showing it back to you in the compare view). We do not use your content for advertising, training third-party models, or any purpose outside the Service unless you give us explicit consent.

Dabke uses automated scoring to give you feedback on your attempts. The scores are guidance, not a certification — they reflect a model's estimate, not a judge's ruling. Real-world dabke is danced socially and you may receive a different reception in a live setting.

The Service — including the brand, design, software, and lesson content — is owned by Dabke and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for non-commercial purposes while you have an active account.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI scores will be accurate.

Dance, especially with jumps, kicks, and quick weight transfers, carries injury risk. You are responsible for your own safety. Consult a physician before starting any new physical activity, especially if you have a pre-existing condition.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dabke and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account from Profile → Sign out → Delete account or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated in the App or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario, except where applicable consumer protection laws give you the right to bring a claim in your jurisdiction.
